\u201cWhat do you want to do with the time you have left?\u201d<\/strong> is often one of the first questions Andr\u00e9e M\u00e9thot, head of recreational activities in our residential and long-term care centres, asks new residents.<\/p>

The question may seem trivial, but it is at the heart of our approach. An approach that transforms these care centres into real homes rather than just living facilities.<\/p>

\u201cOften, when we welcome a person into a CHSLD, there is a certain perception of \u201cend\u201d associated with it. An end to active life and pleasure. But we can adapt stimulating activities according to the abilities and interests of each person. \u00bb Andr\u00e9e M\u00e9thot.<\/p>

Beyond the entertainment aspect, recreational activities are also very powerful to improve the well-being and health of our residents by offering physical, cognitive and social stimulation adapted to the needs and abilities of each individual.<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

With help from donators, we can support the recreational team in setting up activities throughout the year in our 14 CHSLDs.<\/p>

Thematic days, massage therapy, interactive Tovertafel games, rides on adapted e-bikes, meditation workshops, visits from La Belle Visite clowns, and a host of other activities ensure residents have fun and feel comforted and reassured every day.<\/p>

Regardless of a person\u2019s physical limitations, there is always an activity they can participate in.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\tWe look at a person as a whole, not just their illness or disability.\nThis entirely changes our approach. As long as our centres have people living in them, there will be fun to be had.\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
