In Verdun, an essential hospital is transforming to meet the growing needs of a vulnerable, diverse population in search of compassionate care.

In Verdun, healthcare needs continue to increase, and social challenges make them even more urgent.

Our hospital serves an area where vulnerability is very real: many people live alone, often with reduced autonomy; older adults are overrepresented among those living below the poverty line; and there are many single-parent families, sometimes isolated in the face of life’s challenges and barriers to accessing care.

In this context, Verdun Hospital — a community-based frontline hospital — is all the more vital to its community. It provides local, accessible care to a diverse population and is often the first, and sometimes the only, point of contact for thousands of people who rely on the compassion and expertise of its teams.

The population of the Centre-Sud of Montreal is among the most vulnerable in Quebec.

A Project for an Entire Community

This transformation project is redefining how care is delivered in Verdun, while contributing to better overall health for the entire population.

By creating care environments that are better adapted, more efficient, and deeply human, we enable every person who walks through our doors to experience care that is more dignified, reassuring, and respectful.

The impacts will be felt at every level:

But the benefits extend beyond the hospital walls. A healthier population means fewer complications, fewer preventable hospitalizations, a faster return to work or active life, and lower social costs related to poverty, isolation, and loss of autonomy.

Each investment in this project is therefore a long-term lever for transformation, serving a more resilient, equitable, and healthier community.

Contributing to this project is more than a donation: it is an act of trust, commitment, and solidarity with the Verdun community.

That’s why we have implemented a personalized, respectful, and meaningful recognition plan. It aims to honor the real impact of our donor partners according to their level of commitment and to embed their support at the very heart of this lasting transformation.
