Planned Giving

Did you appreciate the care provided at the Verdun or Notre-Dame Hospital? Are you pleased with the services your loved ones are receiving at the CHSLD?

A planned gift is a simple and concrete way to carry on a tradition or leave your mark while passing on your vision and values.

Each type of planned gift and the different options available are presented in more details in our brochure (French only).

Bequest

A bequest is a way to extend your commitment to a cause beyond your lifetime and support future generations while leaving your mark in the community. Several options are available, notably to protect your estate’s beneficiaries and lower its tax burden. This type of gift is also eligible for a tax receipt for the value of the donation.

Donation of a Life Insurance Policy

Donating a life insurance policy is an accessible and flexible way to make a substantial gift for less. And it allows your legacy to live on with your loved ones. There are several options available based on whether you choose to keep ownership of the policy or transfer ownership. What you should keep in mind is the simplicity this type of donation offers. Depending on the way you choose to donate the policy, you may receive a tax receipt or your estate will receive the tax benefits.

Gift of Publicly Traded Securities

A gift of publicly traded securities, also known as a gift of stocks, is an interesting strategy from a fiscal point of view because the securities transferred directly to the foundation are exempt from tax on capital gains. The foundation will issue a tax receipt for the market value of the security at the time of the donation. To donate securities and stocks, please fill in and send us the Gift of Publicly Traded Securities Form.
