Ever since his life was saved in the Emergency Department at Verdun Hospital in 2010, Dominique Joyal has chosen to give back to his community.
“There are no words to express my gratitude to Dr. Pavlov,” he says.
His actions, however, speak for themselves. Over the years, Mr. Joyal has made several gifts through Fondation Santé Urbaine in support of the Emergency Department at Verdun Hospital.
This year, he has taken his generosity one step further with a $10,000 gift, his largest donation to date.
The feeling is mutual. Dr. Ivan Pavlov shares:
“When I think of Dominique, I see two people: the patient I met 15 years ago… and the healthy man who has come back to see us today. Receiving such generosity without ever asking for it is something truly special and extraordinary for our Emergency Department team.”
For the Fondation Santé Urbaine team, it was a privilege to reunite Mr. Joyal and Dr. Pavlov for this photo. Their story is one of gratitude that continues to unfold, while helping provide the Emergency Department team with the tools they need to continue improving care for our community.
