The Projects Supported

Your donations are so much more than just financial support.

They are the reassuring smile on the face of the recreational activities coordinator at the CHSLD. The outstretched hand of the driver of our oncology transportation service. The sympathetic ear of the youth worker in our Bien dans mes baskets program.

But they are also the new portable X-ray machine that makes treating certain fractures easier, or the additional echocardiogram that reduces wait times in our outpatient clinic, or the adapted care unit for our psychiatry patients.

So yes, your donations are more than financial support. They are the beating heart of a healthy community.

Expansion and Modernization of the Verdun Hospital

The community is growing, and so is your hospital!

We have committed to providing a minimum of $1 million to the project by funding the purchase of equipment and furniture to improve users’ quality of care and comfort.

Expansion of the Pediatric Clinic at the Notre-Dame Hospital

In the year ahead, we will, along with the Notre-Dame Hospital, launch a brand-new project to expand and redevelop the Pediatric Clinic so that it is better adapted to the needs of young patients and their families. The clinic will also be able to welcome a greater number of children, helping to relieve pressure on Montréal’s major children’s hospitals.

Staying Healthy with Recreational Activities at the CHSLD

In the 14 CHSLDs we support, recreational activities are more than just a pastime. They are an integral part of the care approach as they provide opportunities for physical, mental, cognitive, and social stimulation, while contributing to maintaining a better quality of life for each resident.

Youth Sports as a Form of Intervention

Two psychosocial intervention programs use sports to better reach youth in underserved communities: Bien dans mes baskets and Boxing for School. Both programs are offered in schools and directly contribute to the development of healthy lifestyle habits but also to psychological health, academic success, and young people’s general development.

Supporting People in Vulnerable Situations

According to public health data, our territory has the highest percentage of individuals living in vulnerable situations in Quebec. That’s why we are proud to support two flagship programs: Hôpital Solidaire and the Fonds d’aide à la population.

Hôpital Solidaire is an initiative that gives CIUSSS care teams the ability to literally prescribe free cafeteria meals as part of the care plan for people in vulnerable situations. The Fonds d’aide à la population is a community assistance fund that aims to make buying assistive equipment for the home and medications and accessing care easier.
